The diplomatic mission had been unexpected to say the least. Novgorod, the capital of Jouran had been thrown into a frenzy of energy. The barbarians were at the gates and every man it seemed that coud hold a rifle was being mustered for the defense of democracy. Of course, Prime Minister Adrian De Witt knew how poorly things could turn out. Declaring war over Ostereich had been a political necessity but in a military sense he knew that unless the country scored a victory that pushed the Kylvanian's out then they were facing disaster.

'' Prime Minister, the Fortisans are here. '' The Prime Minister cleared his throat and brushed a few flecks of dirt from his suit.

'' Foreign Minister Fitzpatrick.. '' And the man that was with him was less known to Adrian De Witt. Nonetheless, a hand was extended to both in a firm shake.. '' I trust you know of the current..situatian on the frontlines. The Kylvanian assault on Ostereich left us with no choice but to attempt to intervene. As a fellow democracy, we could not simply stand by.. ''

Fitzpatrick felt comfortable with General De Klark at his back and he was happy that such a short notice meeting was welcomed. He offered a very faint smile and a firm handshake; as firm as a politician and professor could manage in a situation like this. He would listen to their story and take a few seconds to ponder over his response. The modest gray suit was adjusted.

"I come with word from my nation that we have heard of your troubles. Both Ostereich and Yourselves have gotten yourselves into a bit of a row with our neighbors the Kylvanians. To be honest with you it is the opinion of most of our population and our members of Parliament that we would rather not see the blood shed that is taking place."

The uniformed General spoke a split second after Kevin left him an opening in the statement. "That's why we have mobilized our military as a whole and are moving troops to the shared border between our three nations. Honestly we would prefer that you pursue a white peace; We understand you are not the aggressor here however if your spats with your neighbor continue to rock our region in the world we will end up looking like fresh meat to some other power who wishes to land-slide us."

'' A white peace? Gentleman, if I had the mean's to enforce a white peace at the moment..I'd do it in a heartbeat. But our Army is grossly outnumbered and any peace deal would have to include a modicum of justice for the Republic of Ostereich. Her recovery is now improbable at best but for those wishing freedom..we cannot just let them languish under the yoke of a tyrant. Fortis would have to broker any sort of deal between us, already too much blood has been spilled. If Fortis could act as a peace mediator...until then we shall continue fighting until these Kylvanian bastards are expelled from our soil. '' The Prime Minister said bringing his fist down onto the oak desk.

"Greater Fortis would be honored to be involved in any sort of mediation or peace talks necessary to bring this conflict to a close. Many lives have been lost already from what i understand and with your winter turning the way it is only more will fall. To exposure as well as the gun. " Mr. Fitzpatrick gave a politicians smile and kept his hands folded neatly in front of him.

A secretary entered and hurriedly whispeard into the Prime Minister's ear. '' Gentleman excuse me for a moment. '' Adrian said before stepping into an adjoining room where he dissapeard for the next ten minutes before making his return. A crook of a smile sliding over those features. '' Kylvania has offered terms, hard one's that we believe...need to be amended. We have submitted our counteroffer. If we fail to find results, then Fortis can be the deliverance of a just peace. ''
