service record he stormed the world of politics and quickly rose to be a powerful force. He was well liked as a leader of men and always maintained a connection with those seen by other War-school officers as merely enlisted
soldiers. He proved an avid and educated officer while he also maintained an interest in the agrarian community. In his spare time he enjoys tending to his prized cattle and spends most of his time at his ranch in Hoedspruit.

Foreign Minister Kevin Fitzpatrick

The foreign minister of Greater Fortis is a man who is interested in the culture; in fact one could say he has a soft spot for the tribal traditions of his own nation and an interest in the history of his neighbors. Aside from his
political career he has always maintained ties to the nations universities. Mister Fitzpatrick is a unique figure and caused quite an uproar in the ranks of the Fortisian National Front when he was appointed as Schmidts foreign
minister. A member of Greater Fortis' populist party he is seen as the cool and level-head where some of those who would work with the PM are percieved as more hawkish.

Mister Koos De Klark is a unique figure in the history of Greater Fortis; he is seen as a lateral thinker and more of a maverick who made his way to being General of the Army with tenacity and luck. He is to be considered both
a conventional and ireggular fighter. When taking command of the Army he completely restructured both it's Order of Battle and tactics. A rising star that turned into an unstoppable force. He is a man who uses any and every
channel to achieve his goals and if it means stepping on toes? Toes heal after being broken.

History:

1720
The state of Greater Fortis is largely a massive agrarian community and a collection of farms and cooperatives. The settlers and the native population had largely separate lives with the gaping wound of slavery being supported
by the small government that was made up of a presidential dictatorship.

1725
With a growing issue of a local insurgency and rabid banditry the President dictates the formation of the the Fortisian Rifles and officially declares martial law within the borders of Greater Fortis. All those who disagreed with the path that the Vulkranii-forti national party was taking were deemed a threat to the state. Public meetings were outlawed and a system of voting was eliminated. All political parties were suppressed.

1736
The insurgency gained strength as newly minted units of the Fortisian Rifles began to break away from the government and join the insurgency; they formed guerilla bands and declared war on the official government of Greater Fortis. The situation deteriorated and at some points the conflict would spill over the border into Jouran. Agrarian giants and ranchers secretly supported this insurgency and "The Lion of Volkvelde"a leader named Oscar Klarn became the military arm of the insurgencies new provisional government.

1740
A full blown civil war both starts and ends in this year. The Official governments position had been weak and the posturing and saber rattling had shown for naught against a force that refused to meet in the open field to engage them. The dictatorship was abolished and the country recieves a massive makeover and a renewed national focus. The provisional government begins it's transition toward a Parliamentary system.

1750
The final strokes of the pen cemented both the abolition of slavery and the intergration of the nation at every level. Doors were opened for immigration and the nation was open for trade and business again with a renewed sense of vigor. The provisional government was abolished with a few hiccups and after a year of elections a new Parliament system was filled with politicians from every walk of life.

1800
With national pride in great quantity the industry slipped itself into overdrive as the logistics and infastructure of the nation became a focus. Connecting each city to each township and each township to each village. A massive naval base became an ongoing project and small fishing firms became the norm.

1917
With the Fortisian National Front firmly in control the government swings into an obsession with "modernization" not just militarily but with a focus on economics and industry. The Army was completely restructured and the Navy had decidedly been turned in a different directly focusing more in experimental fields. With the increasing numbers of military men the military continues to strategize with new ways to make war while industry strives onwards an the nation of Greater Fortis continues to enjoy a great sense of national pride and purpose.
